{Bridal Fashion Week Fall ’13}

It’s that time of year again! The ladies of Hyde Park Bridal recently ventured to New York City for a magical weekend of bridal gowns, jewels, and accessories. Bridal Fashion Week is the bridal shop owner’s playground and we sure enjoyed ourselves as we got the first look at all of the talented designer’s Spring 2014 collections! While lace, satin, and traditional shapes were still common on the runways; we were pleased to see all of our favorite designers give modern updates to the bridal classics.

Pastels, pastels, pastels! Miss Hayley Paige continued to wow us with her use of color giving brides a feminine, playful gown option away from traditional ivory. From the lilac, layered skirt on the beloved “Dori” to the alabaster tulle of “Star”, we fell even more in love with this designer (as if that was possible). Jim Hjelm and Anne Barge were two other lines that dove in to the pastel trend. As all of you Hyde Park Bridal dolls are well aware, we LOVE all things pink. We could not be more obsessed with this trend of bringing soft blush tones and some color to the world of bridal.

Where are our brides out there who love an open back?! The Spring 2014 gowns are your dream come true! Through the seasons we’ve seen the way brides add some sex appeal to their bridal look change. While it may have been a little cleavage or a high slit in the past, an open back is the way to do it with class in 2014! Hayley Paige, Tara Keely, and Alvina Valenta provided us with some of our favorite open back gowns this season. Tara Keely 2403 is perfect for the bride who wants the princess gown while still adding some sexiness and we know that Hayley Paige’s “Ameryn”, a fitted version of Fall 2013 “Carrie”, is going to be a Hyde Park Bridal favorite.

Our third and final favorite trend of New York Bridal Market this season was… wait for it… SPARKLE! The ladies of Hyde Park Bridal spend a large portion of their spare time looking for new things to glitter, new bling belts/jewels to purchase, and generally loving all things sparkly. If the excitement we felt making our new pink, glitter jewelry tags this past summer wasn’t proof enough, you should have seen how giddy we were watching all of the new beading, sequins, and gorgeous crystal boleros making their way down the runway. When in doubt, bling it out!

Who does bling better than Haute Bride?! These beauties are coming to HPB soon!
